No, it's not Fanfiction. When you want to publish (and obviously you'll want to copyright 'your' material to make sure no on steals 'your' work) and you can't copyright stuff that's already copyrighted. You'll need to get permission from the band (I think your publisher would do that. Doub t the'd give permission to any self-published, vanity, or single individual first time author). I'm not sure how the $ thing works though, but as far as I've seen in life: Nothing is free.
