A few questions about my cats tail?

my maine coon loves flirting with his tail and he always flits it around even when he's sleeping (dreams, perhaps). i don't think there's anything wrong with that at all. as for the waxy tail, he also had a greasy spot at the base of his tail when he was younger. even after a bath and some good scrubbing, the greasy spot didn't go away! i didn't shave or bathe him again, but once in a while i just wiped that area with a pet towelette. it just kind of faded with time. maybe it's an adolescent thing, since he was about the same age as yours and it's cleared up totally.
