What did prohibition lead to?

It led to the rise in power & money of organized crime as prohibition was an unpopular law & people wanted to drink all the same. On the trivial level, & led to the popularity of mixed drinks. During prohibition, much of the booze was homemade (bathtub made) & tasted terrible so people would mix it with sweet soda pop and/or juices to be able to drink it down. When prohibition ended & the quality of alcoholic beverages became better, people still had a taste for mixed drinks.
